Veg Upma Mash
A baby-friendly recipe for constipation friendly and easy to digest from 7m+.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp suji (rava)
- 2 tbsp carrot, finely grated or boiled
- 1 tbsp boiled green peas
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 3/4-1 cup water
- Tiny pinch jeera powder (optional)
Method
- Heat ghee in a pan and lightly roast the suji for 1-2 minutes without browning.
- Slowly add water while stirring continuously.
- Cook until the suji becomes soft and porridge-like.
- Add the boiled carrot and peas.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add jeera powder if using.
- Mash lightly for a smoother consistency if needed.
- Serve warm.
Texture tip
- 7-8 months: Mash well until smooth.
- 8-9 months: Leave tiny soft vegetable pieces.

Suji cooks quickly and can easily be adjusted to different textures as your baby grows.
Parent tip
Replace peas with pumpkin or sweet potato if your baby is just starting vegetables.
