Ragi Dates Porridge (Natural Sweet)
A gentle ragi recipe for clean Indian baby food routines from 8m+.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp sprouted ragi flour
- 1 soft date (seed removed) or 1 tsp dates powder
- 1 cup (240 ml) water
- 1/2 tsp ghee
Method
- If using whole dates, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes.
- Mash the soaked dates into a smooth paste.
- Mix the sprouted ragi flour with 3 tbsp water to make a lump-free paste.
- Add the remaining water and mix well.
- Cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Turn off the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- Stir in the date paste or dates powder.
- Add ghee and serve warm.
Texture tip
- 8-9 months: Keep smooth and creamy.
- 9-12 months: Leave a little texture if using mashed dates.
