Oats Raisin Porridge

Oats Raisin Porridge

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oats
  • 5-6 black raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp ghee

Method

  1. Wash the black raisins thoroughly.
  2. Soak them in warm water for 20-30 minutes until soft.
  3. Mash or blend into a smooth puree.
  4. Add the oats and water to a pan.
  5. Cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes until soft and creamy.
  6. Stir in the raisin puree.
  7. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  8. Add ghee and mix well.
  9. Adjust the consistency with warm water if needed.
  10. Serve warm.

Texture tip

  • 8-9 months: Keep smooth and creamy.
  • 9-12 months: Leave a little texture from the oats.

Black raisins are traditionally used in Indian homes to naturally sweeten foods and add iron.

Always blend or mash raisins well for younger babies to avoid choking hazards.
